Angi has launched an app within ChatGPT, allowing consumers to find and connect with contractors beginning from a conversation with the chatbot, the company announced Wednesday.
How it works: Users can select “Apps” from the sidebar in ChatGPT, search for Angi, and once connected, ask questions about a needed repair and receive guidance and recommendations for local contractors.
- When a homeowner selects a recommended contractor or requests a quote, they’re directed to Angi’s ‘AI Helper,’ launched in June 2025, which allows homeowners to describe issues in their own words and translates those descriptions into clear service requests.

The big picture: The move underscores ChatGPT’s growing influence on consumer search behavior.
- According to Angi, users of its AI Helper are 3x more likely to request a quote from a professional than traditional browsing users, and homeowners who start a project with AI Helper are 25 percent more likely to report their project was completed successfully.
What they’re saying: “Homeowners are starting projects differently. Instead of searching multiple websites, many now begin by asking an AI assistant what to do and what it may cost,” Angi co-founder Angie Hicks said in a statement.
- “Having our app in ChatGPT turns those conversations from recommendations into real-world action — helping homeowners understand their project, set expectations and connect with the right skilled pro,” she added.
