Google released an update that automatically displays businesses’ social media posts on Google Business Profiles (GBP).
The big picture: This gives customers a new way to explore a contractor’s social activity, upping the importance of maintaining an active online presence.
-
“Being omnipresent is becoming even more important since we can now click off of a Google product to check the activity of a social feed,” Josh Crouch of Relentless Digital told Homepros.
Details: Social posts from linked accounts will automatically appear beneath core business information on Google Business Profiles, initially on mobile — and Google Maps.
-
This expands on the late-last-year update of being able to simply link social media accounts to GBPs.
-
Linkable platforms include Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Pinterest, and TikTok.

Check out the update in action here.
Looking ahead: The update is currently limited to certain regions (which Google hasn’t specified), but a wider rollout in the future is likely.
