HARDI distributor sales rose 6.7% in July
But the report is “not telling us much about the market,” a HARDI representative said

HVAC association HARDI on Tuesday released its latest monthly Trends report.
What’s happening: Sales by its distributor members rose 6.7 percent year-over-year in July, while annualized sales were up 2.7 percent, per the report.
- Of note: HARDI’s annualized sales figure compares the 12 months through July 2026 with the 12 months through July 2025.
What they’re saying: “The 6.7% sales growth during July is the best monthly gain of the year, when comparing growth with the same number of billing days,” Brian Loftus, Senior Market Analyst at HARDI, said in a statement.
Yes, but: “The good report is not telling us much about the market,” he added. “The strongest regions had the biggest cooling degree day increases, and the weakest regions had big cooling degree day declines.”
- The housing market has remained depressed, as well as consumer sentiment, “which is under pressure from stubborn inflation,” Loftus noted. “The market is due for a change. We would have more confidence that signs of improvement could endure if inflation and interest rates would subside.”
A representative for HARDI didn’t return a request for comment.
