WRANGLD, a two-year-old software startup based in Richmond, received an undisclosed amount of funding from Virginia Venture Partners (VVP) last week. WRANGLD builds a software platform for contractors to run and manage their entire business – competing with ServiceTitan, Payzer, Housecall Pro, and others.

What’s the pitch? The company’s product is an all-in-one system that allows contractors to manage their entire business — from taking an initial phone call to issuing a final invoice, and everything in between. They also enable customers to offer consumer financing through lending company, Momnt, who they partnered with back in March.

Even though there are a number of existing platforms on the market, WRANGLD sees an opportunity given most contractors, even to this day, aren’t using any software at all.

The plan is to invest the funds to fuel further growth, which includes scaling headcount. CEO Jonathan Dyke said that after going through the product build for a year and a half, “this year is all about scale for us”.

Backdrop: The plethora of new software entrants each year is largely driven by low, but accelerating technology adoption happening in the trades. Founders recognize that most contractors are still transitioning from pen and paper to digital, and that software can drive meaningful efficiencies and growth for customers.
