MSouth Equity Partners, the private equity sponsor of residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical platform USA Hometown Experts, is exploring a sale of the company, according to two reports this week.
The backdrop: USA Hometown Experts, formed in 2022 and focused on the South, has a footprint across seven states, according to its website, though it doesn’t disclose the specific contracting brands it owns.
- The company generates between $30 and $40 million of EBITDA, news outlet The Deal wrote in a members-only report, while PE Hub, an investor-focused news and data company, placed the figure at $30 million.
Representatives for USA Hometown Experts didn’t respond to Homepros’ requests for comment.
Between the lines: MSouth launched the sale process in late April, according to The Deal, and tapped Citizens Bank’s investment banking arm as its sell-side advisor, both news outlets noted.
The big picture: While the reported process is in the early stages, it follows a string of private equity-backed platform activity this year, including Blackstone’s $2.5 billion acquisition of Champions Group, American Residential Services’ (ARS) reported sale process, and Redwood Services’ recent acquisition of a group of five contracting businesses.
