Midwest HVAC distributor Koch Air last week acquired Standard Air for an undisclosed sum, expanding its footprint into the Northeast, the company announced in a statement.
The big picture: While contractors typically grab the headlines, consolidation is also happening at the distributor level.
- Winsupply, Shearer Supply, Watsco, and Team Air have all made acquisitions in the past 24 months, while two distributor-focused roll-up firms launched during the same period.
Zoom in: Koch Air, which counts 10 locations across four Midwestern states, will add to its business Standard Air’s four locations serving contractors throughout Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
What’s next: “Standard Air will continue to operate as a separate division alongside Koch Air,” said Brad Muehlbauer, Koch Air’s CEO.
- Koch Air didn’t respond to a request for comment.
