Trade Jobs, a new recruiting site, has officially entered the scene — launching to help HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical contractors find skilled talent.

Details: Trade Jobs operates a subscription model — starting at $245/month — instead of charging contractors per job posting or per candidate like other sites.

  • The company pre-qualifies candidates, stating it does the work for you “to ensure a candidate’s licenses and qualifications align with your job requirements.”
  • There are currently over 49,000 candidates on the platform.

The big picture: 95,000 employers nationwide have posted over 770,000 jobs this year, according to data from PeopleReady Skilled Trades — highlighting the demand for skilled workers.

  • Additionally, Mike Rowe noted that for every five workers who leave the workforce each year, “basically, two come in.”

Of note: Unlike broad recruiting platforms like Indeed, industry-specific platforms offer a targeted approach, theoretically attracting higher-intentioned, better-qualified candidates.

Looking ahead: Although the desperate need for technicians is obvious, the launch of Trade Jobs, along with other industry-specific recruiting sites, is evidence the industry is taking action.
