Seattle-based distributor Pacific Plumbing Supply Co. has acquired the operations of M&L Supply for an undisclosed sum.

What’s happening: The deal among the two family-owned businesses will create product synergies and operational efficiencies for the combined entity, as PHCP Pros noted. A representative for Pacific didn’t return a request for comment.

  • M&L Supply was founded in Butte, Montana, in 1934, and has a second location in Spokane, Washington.
  • Pacific Plumbing Supply, founded in 1949, has 14 locations across Washington, Alaska, and Montana.

The big picture: The deal is representative of ongoing consolidation across all levels of the plumbing industry.

What they’re saying: “This acquisition is an important and unique opportunity to strengthen our business and continue the strong relationships that M&L Supply and their employees have built over 80-plus years,” Ron Abramson, CEO of Pacific Plumbing Supply, said in a statement.

  • “Our family and employees have taken great pride in serving our customers for over eight decades,” added M&L owner Bill Maxwell. “Joining forces with Pacific Plumbing Supply ensures that our customers and team members will continue to be supported by a company that shares our values and commitment to excellence.”
