Sealed Pro launches to help contractors take advantage of rebates
March 18, 2024
Sealed, the NY-based climate technology company, launched Sealed Pro, a software platform designed to boost contractor participation in rebate programs.
The big picture: Over $2.5 billion in utility rebates are available every year, but the complexity of implementing them turns contractors away.
-
“To date, many contractors have opted not to use any rebate programs, but we’ve heard many are starting to hear questions from homeowners about why they don’t,” Lauren Salz, Sealed’s CEO, told Homepros.
-
“We understand why many contractors do not participate: they face some pretty serious challenges like complex requirements, lack of support staff, and heavy administrative work,” she added.
How it works: “Sealed Pro changes this by providing rebate estimates in under three minutes, helping contractors close deals at the kitchen table. It handles all paperwork and ensures prompt rebate payments within 10 days of installation,” Salz said.
-
Nick Arguelles of Pacific Aire, a customer, explained that to provide an estimate, they “enter the homeowner’s energy usage into the app, along with details of their existing furnace and the heat pump replacement.”
-
The company piloted Sealed Pro in California, submitting over $1 million in rebate applications over the past five months.
Of note: Acknowledging the abundance of software systems, Salz noted, “As part of our future plans, we will integrate with major CRMs, enhancing their experience and maximizing productivity and profits.”
Looking ahead: Sealed Pro is initially available to contractors in California, but the company plans on a larger rollout later this year as it eyeballs the upcoming Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) rebates.
