U.S. wholesale prices of plumbing fixtures in April were unchanged, newly released federal data shows.
What’s happening: A plumbing fixture-specific ‘producer price index’ (PPI), which measures the average change over time in the selling prices domestic manufacturers receive for their products, stayed flat from March, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Yes, but: Compared to April 2025, the index is up 8.6 percent — and 31.9 percent over the past five years, since April 2021.
Meanwhile, wholesale prices for residential gas water heaters also remained unchanged in April, further extending a streak of effectively no growth since May 2025.
